Vermilion Abyss

Privacy Policy

Last updated November 3, 2026 (game version 0.16.0)

Vermilion Abyss is a single-player, offline idle role-playing game for Android, published by Xianwuli Interactive LLC. It does not collect, transmit, sell or share personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising and no in-app purchases.

What is stored on your device

Everything the game remembers is stored locally, in the app private storage on your phone (the Android WebView local storage for this app). It is never uploaded. It includes:

  • your save file and its automatic backup;
  • comfort and accessibility settings such as sound, reduced effects, battery saver, text size, colour-blind shapes, the damage-number filter and volume levels;
  • the tutorial-completed flag and the last title-screen tip;
  • battle preferences such as auto-battle and speed, and the last-used tab;
  • updater bookkeeping: the last check time, the latest known release, and versions you skipped or snoozed.

No other data is written, and none of it leaves the device.

Network use

The game is fully playable offline. Builds installed from Google Play make no network requests at all: the in-app updater is disabled and Google Play delivers updates.

Builds installed directly from the GitHub release page may check for updates:

  • When: on start, at most once every six hours, and whenever you tap Check for updates.
  • What: the app requests release metadata from the public update feed at https://xianwuligroup.com/vermilion-abyss/latest.json or, in older builds, from GitHub release information.
  • What is sent: nothing about you. The app adds no save data, device identifiers, advertising IDs or analytics. The feed host and GitHub receive ordinary web-request information such as your IP address and user agent under their own privacy statements.
  • What comes back: a version number, a release link and release notes. Nothing is installed unless you choose to download an update from the release page.

More > Settings > Report opens a prefilled GitHub issue in your browser for you to read, edit or discard. The game sends nothing itself at that moment, and the prefilled text contains only build and game-progress details shown to you before you submit it.

Nothing else in the game contacts the internet. Art, audio, fonts and game data are bundled with the app, and all music and sound effects are generated on the device.

Android permissions

  • INTERNET - used only by the update check and an update download you chose, in direct-APK builds.
  • REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES - used only to install an update you chose to download. Google Play builds do not request this permission.

The game does not ask for location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, SMS, phone state or external storage access.

Children

The game collects nothing from anyone, including children. Because there are no accounts, advertising, purchases, messaging or user-generated content, there is no personal data to collect, share or delete. It is not directed at children under 13.

Erasing your data

  • Reset save (More > Settings) permanently erases progress, the save and its backup. Comfort settings are kept.
  • Clear app storage (Android Settings > Apps > Vermilion Abyss > Storage > Clear data) removes everything stored locally.
  • Uninstalling removes the local data along with the app.

Because nothing leaves the device except the update request described above, there is no server-side copy of your data to delete.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version is published with the game release and the date at the top is updated. The same statements are shown in the game under More > Privacy.
